Corrective Procedures

Not Satisfied with Your Previous Procedure?

Are you unhappy with the results of your bariatric procedure — yes? If your answer is yes; let’s have a conversation! In certain cases, there are options and procedures available to address other physicians poor performance and undesired results.

Selim Surgery Center is understanding of the fact that sometimes you must make radical decisions when your health is on the line. The fact of the matter is that there are physicians in the US, Mexico, and other locations around the world who offer “services” to individuals who feel they have little to no finance options and have no where else to turn. In some cases, these “physicians” are less than qualified to perform these procedures and/or their facilities are substandard. Taking into consideration all of the factors, your dream of a new and healthy life quickly turns into a nightmare!

  |  ZERO Cases of Infection

Infections after surgery are caused by germs. The most common of these include the bacteria StaphylococcusStreptococcus, and Pseudomonas. Germs can infect a surgical wound through various forms of contact, such as from the touch of a contaminated caregiver or surgical instrument, through germs in the air, or through germs that are already on or in your body and then spread into the wound. | ZERO Clotting Incidents

In the days and weeks after surgery, you have a higher chance of developing a deep vein thrombosis (DVT). This is a condition in which a blood clot or thrombus develops in a deep vein. They are most common in the leg. But, a DVT may develop in an arm, or another deep vein in the body. (Courtesy St. Luke’s)

  |  ZERO DVT Incidents

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) occurs when a blood clot (thrombus) forms in one or more of the deep veins in your body, usually in your legs. Deep vein thrombosis can cause leg pain or swelling but also can occur with no symptoms. You can get DVT if you have certain medical conditions that affect how your blood clots. (Courtesy Mayo Clinic)

| ZERO Pulmonary Embolisms

Pulmonary embolism (PE) occurs when a blood clot gets lodged in an artery in the lung, blocking blood flow to part of the lung. Blood clots most often start in the legs and travel up through the right side of the heart and into the lungs. This is called DVT. However, PE sometimes can occur without any evidence of DVT. Do I Qualify?

Bariatric Surgery

Millions of people would like to lose weight. Severely obese patients are considered viable candidates to undergo bariatric surgery.

Severe obesity is defined as weight that is at least 100 pounds more than the ideal body weight for a person’s height and age.

Severe obesity (Morbid Obesity) is defined by the patient’s body mass index, or ratio of fat to lean body mass. It is an equation that uses weight, height and age in the calculation.
